When we did some research back in the day about the most famous and legendary fingerboarders to invite them for B.A.T.H. for example the name Alexis Alvarez was always in the top 5 of all lists. The young men from Colombia made a huge impact on fingerboarding in its early days. And he still is pushing it forward with his company Simple Decks. The quality and the look of the decks is matchless using the most stunning wood plies and on top the stocks are pretty rare.
In 2012 TKY and his girlfriend were backpacking through the great country of Colombia and they had the chance to organize a meeting in Medellin were Alex was living at this time. The two boys immediately started chatting and fingerboarding with each other a deep friendship was born lasting up to this date. Furthermore on that trip they organized one of the very first fingerboard meet-ups for the country in Bogota which set a fire in the Colombian scene which is burning to this day! A fortiori Alex was responsible for one of TKYs BerlinWood pro model graphics – the bird of paradise.
